This position is responsible to assist the shop by running parts, washing trucks, fueling small vehicles, inventory control, light janitorial, and assisting mechanics with other duties as needed. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members. This is a great opportunity for those interested in a maintenance or construction career.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Assist mechanics with vehicle and equipment repairs and maintenance.
  2. Retrieve and organize tools, parts, and supplies.
  3. Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
  4. Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
  5. Help with lifting, moving, and positioning heavy parts and machinery.
  6. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  7. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the lead mechanic or supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

As a successful Mechanic Helper you will have:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in a similar role.
  3. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team or independently and a willingness to learn.
  4. Ability to hold and maintain a driver's license in accordance with all state regulations with a good driving record.
  5. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
  6. Experience with the operation of small trucks pulling trailers and small flatbeds is preferred.
