At Picnic we have a fleet of 1800 vehicles (EPV’s as we call them) bring groceries to 45.000 families each day. As a Mechanic at Picnic you have a direct impact on making sure this is possible. We are the supermarket on wheels and our Mechanics make sure it stays that way!
Our vehicles are electric, but our Mechanics are very practical! We don’t use a laptop to find the issue; our Mechanics identify it ourselves. Unlike many modern vehicles, our vehicle still requires real hands-on work. Our EPVs are practical delivery vehicles that are used intensively every day, which means craftsmanship, mechanical knowledge and problem-solving are still big parts of the Mechanic job at Picnic.
You’ll be working on the Goupil G4 and G6: compact delivery vehicles that may look small, but work tirelessly every day to get groceries to our customers. These are vehicles with character, and our experienced mechanics ensure they are up and running each day.
You will receive your own service van for business use to bring you too and from our hubs!
We partner with health insurer CZ, giving Picnic employees a 5% to 15% discount on CZ insurance packages. You can also lease a new (e-)bike at a reduced rate through our partnership with Lease a Bike, with the option to purchase it later.
At Picnic, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow. We offer personal development programs, including a Leadership Bootcamp. Prefer to focus on your mental well-being? Through OpenUp, you get free access to professional psychologists and various training programs.
At Picnic, you receive 25 vacation days, travel expense reimbursement, and a pension plan. We also provide a phone and a laptop!

At Picnic, we’re revolutionizing the way people buy groceries. Our affordable and sustainable service is made possible by our passionate people, cutting-edge technology, efficient planning, and, of course, our fleet of iconic electric vehicles! It’s why our customer base is growing rapidly across the Netherlands, Germany, and France.
One of the things that makes Picnic different is that we handle almost everything in-house: forecasting, developing our first automated warehouse and new electric Picnic vehicles, internal and customer-facing applications—the list goes on. It gives us more freedom when it comes to trying out new and innovative ideas, which is something we do a lot!
We love to challenge ourselves and learn new things. Our teams have access to various meetups, language classes, ‘Lunch & Learn’ sessions, our very own Tech Academy, and tailored soft-skills training. Professional development is as important to us as the service we provide to our customers.
As a diverse team made up of over 80 nationalities, there are always plenty of activities to get involved with, whether you’re into sports, board games, charitable causes, dancing (at our legendary Picnic festival), or licorice tasting—yes, even that!
Our scale-up culture means you get to own your role and bring fresh ideas to the table. So, if you’re looking for an opportunity to make a real difference, get in touch—we’d love to hear from you.
