Portland Canal Transportation Limited Partnership is a groundbreaking joint venture proudly operated by the Nisga’a Nation, Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC), and Arrow Transportation Systems Inc. This partnership has established the Port of Stewart as British Columbia’s first majority Indigenous-owned port—a significant milestone in advancing Indigenous economic leadership and ensuring full supply chain participation, from mining through to global export. The combined expertise and vision of the Nisga’a and Tahltan Nations, together with Arrow’s legacy in transportation, make Portland Canal Transportation a unique and dynamic workplace.
While Arrow remains an equal partner, the official legal entity overseeing this division is Portland Canal Transportation LP. We are proud to balance Arrow’s century-long tradition of service-focused transportation solutions with the entrepreneurial strength and cultural values of our Indigenous partners.
