Job Description

Ingram Marine Group is seeking a Mechanic to join our team in Columbus, KY. No day is the same in this role, you could be performing inspections, trouble shooting, or repairing engines on vessels, fixing hydraulic leaks, and working on various types of equipment. What you will be doing:

  • Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various types of equipment on vessels
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Servicing main engines, gears, & generator engines
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assuring safe and efficient operations through compliance with Ingram’s policies and principles, safety systems, and the company’s code of ethics.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Managing maintenance on vessels in our HELM system

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma/GED is required
  • Must have valid drivers license
  • 0-2 years relative experience; marine industry experience a plus
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
  • Basic mechanical background and ability is expected.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Control down time
  • Diesel Engine Knowledge, Vessel Knowledge.
  • 80% of duties are on the water
