About the role:
As NPE continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Mechanic/Mechanical Fitter who is eager to work for a leader in the provision of pump, power and compressed air equipment and services. The is a full-time position based out of our branch located in Para Hills West, with regular travel to site. You will perform assembly, testing, repairs and maintenance to plant and equipment which includes mine site dewatering.
Key Responsibilities:
• Undertaking maintenance & repair of rental equipment (Diesel engine, generators, pumps)
• Carry out engine diagnosis, diesel & mechanical repairs and servicing.
• Ensuring delivery schedules are met in a timely manner
• Performing engine diagnosis, mechanical repairs and servicing
• Inspections and assessments of returned fleet for damage, ensuring the assessment includes scope of repairs and parts
• Accurate recording of servicing information and other documentation relevant to the role
• Connection and testing of pumping equipment
• Undertake ad-hoc servicing, installs and repairs in the field as required
• Attending site to perform work according to operational requirements
• Deliver excellent customer service and champion the NPE brand.
• Accountability for the effective maintenance, repair of equipment ensuring delivery schedules are met in a timely manner
• Carry out engine diagnosis, mechanical repairs and servicing
• Assessment and inspection of returned fleet for damage
• Assess and scope repairs and parts
• Accurate and timely recording of servicing information
• Effective communication on a day-to-day basis to ensure activities are clearly understood by all Connection and testing of pumping equipment
• Ensuring timely completion for all inspection, testing, safety, delivery and purchasing paperwork is completed in full
• Ad hoc servicing, installs and repairs in the field as required
• Be an effective conduit for customer relations and support, particularly whilst on site
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Relevant Trade Certificate – Mechanical or Mechanical Fitting
• Experience in diesel mechanical maintenance, diagnostics and repairs
• Assessing and scoping required repairs & parts
• Ability to read manuals and schematics, document repair notes and interpret parts information
• Able to work unsupervised with limited direction
• Current C-class driver's license
• Forklift ticket (or willing to obtain)
Desirable:
• Experience in Rental, Mining, Construction or Heavy industries
• Experience in auto electrical systems and troubleshooting
• Experience aligning pump ends to drive systems
• Power generation
