We are looking for a Mechanic to join our team.
1. Must be able to read and understand operating / maintenance manuals and/or technical schematics.
2. Conduct inspections of company fleet pertaining to on road and off -road equipment in accordance with company policy and / or government jurisdiction regulations.
3. Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA etc.,
4. Interact with vehicle/ equipment operators, job site personnel, office personnel, vendors and technical support to help determine level of service and/ or repair needed for equipment and/ or job needs.
5. Must know how to operate company equipment to diagnose problems to communicate to management.
6. Operate and maintain overhead and truck mounted cranes.
7. Maintain equipment and tools in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
8. Perform repairs on vehicles and equipment in adverse weather/ environments hot or cold, night or day.
9. Operates equipment, such as forklift or skid loader in a safe and efficient manner.
10. Organizes shop inventory to be safely and efficiently retrieved or stored.
11. Complete required paperwork for accounting, payroll, operations or material inventory as directed.
12. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors.
13. Ability to wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) in accordance with company policy.
14. Must work as needed, given the unpredictability of how long jobs or trips will take, including overtime, nights, and weekends.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
16. Regular attendance.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Requirements for the position include Class B license with tanker endorsements.
• Must be self-motivated, team-player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Basic Skills for trouble shooting and diagnostics.
• Minimum 5 year's experience with Class 8 trucks/construction equipment.
• Must have superior cutting and welding skills for field repairs and fabricating
projects.
• Perform the various duties of a mechanic.
• Ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous and respectful toward others.
Preferred Qualifications:
• California Commercial Driver's License with endorsements (Tankers).
• Hazmat
• TWIC Card
• Forklift experience
Physical Requirements:
• Requires walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
• Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech , vision and hearing.
• Head movement/rotation moving head in any direction (up, down, side to side).
• Requires climbing in and out of Ready-Mix and Flatbed Trucks multiple times a day.
• Wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) in accordance with company policy.
• Exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
• Exposure to outside working conditions; to cold or hot temperatures.
