Job Description

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer II for VECE COE team, be ing responsible for HSS (Honeywell Sensing Solutions) GBE (Golden Business Enterprise) products’ cost reduction through VE (Value Engineering) and CE (Components Engineering) initiatives, goal is to make Honeywell products be more competitive in market, and drive margin expansion. This role includes identification of product cost saving opportunities through alternate supplier qualification, product design standardization, and factory transfers. To achieve this goal, we will need to leverage your technical expertise on mechanical engineering, and your innovation on new technology and design, as well as your VECE methodology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in greater China as an Individual contributor with responsibilities and ownership for mechanical design in Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE).
  • The responsibilities include identifying cost reduction ideas from part & process design by BOM analysis, ownership on VE/CE projects.
  • The candidate will be working along with various teams such as R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain etc.
  • Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation, and progress reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent subject
  • At least 3 years of experience in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Component Engineering
  • Capable of using CAD tools: Pro-Engineer is a must
  • Have good understanding on different manufacturing processes like plastic injection molding, metal parts machining, casting, sheet metal process, joining methodologies (crimping, welding, brazing, soldering) and sensor encapsulation methodologies
  • Good knowledge about materials such as engineering plastics, metals, plating
  • Experience in developing DFMEA, PFMEA , control plan and process flow chart
  • Exposure to handling ECN (engineering change request)
  • Conceptualize the product and translate the requirements into CTQs for design
  • Problem solving Skills: Independently leads problem analysis to develop new processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrates accountability (collaborating with others) for the design / implementation/ delivery of subsystem/product
  • Good Business Communication skills: Interacts with Partners at global locations, local team members & management stake holders and customers for requirements capturing.
  • Works with all the stakeholders to ensure that technical objectives are met with the given project/program constraints. Active participation in the project planning/execution phases for technical risk management. Understanding of product certification requirements.
  • Very good written and spoken English, very good communication and negotiation skills, experience multitasking and prioritizing workload.

We Value

  • Experience and knowledge in VEC E- Value engineering and component engineering, or VAVE – Value Analysis/Value Engineering
  • Knowledge of should costing.
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt
