Salary: Grade D £13.05 - £13.47 per hour
Hours of work: The working hours for this role are expected to be 11:50 – 13:10, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 11.15 – 14:45 on a Wednesday, 7.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. The start date for this role is 02 September 2026.

All about the role:
Hindon CEVA Primary School is seeking to appoint a positive and enthusiastic MDSA/Swimming helper to join their team.
The Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, welfare and positive behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime period, supporting the school’s ethos and policies at all times.
The role involves supervising children in dining and recreational areas, encouraging good behaviour, and promoting a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Responsibilities include preparing and clearing dining areas, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring equipment and spaces are used safely and effectively.
The post holder will respond to minor incidents, provide basic first aid where appropriate, and report any concerns regarding pupils’ health, wellbeing or behaviour in line with safeguarding procedures.
As a swimming helper you will accompany the children on their weekly swimming trip, along with other staff you will be supervising children while travelling on the coach and in different areas of the Sports Centre, you will not be expected to enter the swimming pool.
Effective communication with children and colleagues is essential, alongside the ability to motivate pupils and build positive relationships within the school community. Candidates should demonstrate strong organisational skills, flexibility, and a commitment to promoting the well-being of children, ideally with experience in an educational setting. The role also requires participation in training and ongoing professional development, ensuring high standards of conduct, safeguarding awareness, and continuous improvement.
