Job Description

Job Title: Associate Director, KGS - Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality (DQ), Data Governance (DG) and AI enablement

The Associate Director for Enterprise MDM, DQ, and DG is a key leadership role within KPMG Global Services (KGS). This individual will have people management responsibility and provide strategic oversight for the firm's data management infrastructure. The role involves leading a team of data professionals to plan, design, and implement user-centric solutions that ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in multiple tools for master data management, data governance and quality, with hands-on experience in these data management platforms, and will be responsible for driving the firm's data strategy forward. The candidate should also be able to implement and integrate AI into such solutions and should have a good understanding of it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Direction: Provide strategic direction and leadership on the delivery of Master Data Management, Data Quality, and Data Governance solutions. Transform architectural and business requirements into tangible technology designs.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of data management professionals, ensuring efficient utilization and timely completion of projects. Coach, develop, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Asset development Help in building AI based solutions contemplating MDM, DQ and DG architecture. This would encompass accelerators and solutions that would help shape our data organization.
  • Client responses Help shape up client responses for RFI/ RFPs using the knowledge of data management along with supporting frameworks and accelerators.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with critical data stakeholders across the firm to understand their needs and build scalable, optimal, and self-service data and analytics solutions. Serve as the primary point of contact for technology and operational issue resolution.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Design and implement controls and key metrics to ensure data accuracy and completeness in all reporting and analysis. Apply in-depth knowledge of leading practices to execute initiatives that achieve the firm's strategic data goals.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Coordinate the planning, design, testing, documentation, and implementation of data-driven business applications. Ensure that all solutions are production-ready and align with operational, security, and compliance standards.
  • Innovation: Monitor innovative trends and external market changes in data management to identify new capabilities and opportunities for process enhancements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: A minimum of12 years of progressive, post-bachelor's work experience in a related field.
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or Analytics.
  • Core Expertise:
    • Proven experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle along with asset development and thought leadership
    • Deep understanding of Data Governance, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Quality (DQ) principles and leading industry practices.
    • Experience in designing, testing, and implementing large-scale data management and software business applications.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise with multiple data management and ETL tools, including Informatica, Reltio, Stibo, or Semarchy
    • Proficiency in data modeling, analysis, and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy
    • Strong experience with various database technologies, including Azure SQL Database, MSSQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, or Snowflake
    • Programming skills with Python or R are also desirable.
  • Leadership:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of technical professionals.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with senior leadership and establish strong client relationships and professional networks.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities on complex matters.
