As a Senior Lecturer and Year 2 Co-Convenor within the MD Curriculum and Assessment team, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design, coordination and delivery of a year-long course within the Doctor of Medicine program. Working alongside a collaborative network of educators, clinicians and professional staff, you will help create meaningful, future-focused learning experiences that prepare the next generation of doctors to make a real difference.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Teaching: Lead and coordinate the design, development and delivery of Year 2 of the MD Program, overseeing lectures, tutorials and workshops while ensuring alignment with program outcomes. Drive the integration of curriculum across themes, support teaching staff and guest lecturers, and foster engaging, student-centred learning experiences through contemporary pedagogies and technologies.

  • Research: Contribute to the advancement of medical education through the scholarship of teaching and learning by applying evidence-based approaches to curriculum design, assessment and evaluation. Collaborate on initiatives and projects that enhance educational innovation, inform best practice, and strengthen teaching quality and student outcomes.

  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Mentor and support academic and teaching staff, building capability in curriculum delivery, assessment practices and educational leadership. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, responsible practice and professional development within the MD teaching community.

  • Citizenship and Service: Provide leadership within the MD Curriculum and Assessment team and contribute to governance, committees and working groups. Build strong partnerships across Learning Communities, Clinical Schools and the wider University, while actively promoting a respectful, inclusive and culturally safe environment aligned with University values.

About You

You are a collaborative and forward-thinking medical educator with a passion for shaping future clinicians through high-quality, innovative teaching. With a strong foundation in curriculum development and assessment, you bring both academic leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement, fostering engaging and inclusive learning environments that support student success and professional growth.

  • A medical qualification with eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia

  • A higher degree in medical education or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in medical education

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching across undergraduate and/or postgraduate settings, including experience coordinating courses and delivering curriculum in medical education

  • Proven ability to design, lead and implement curriculum, pedagogy and assessment initiatives that enhance learning outcomes and align with program objectives

  • Experience in educational leadership, with a track record of influencing teaching quality, innovation and assessment practices among peers

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across academic, clinical and professional teams

  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and the scholarship of teaching and learning, including contributing to continuous improvement in medical education

  • Demonstrated alignment with values of respect, inclusion and cultural safety, contributing positively to a collegial and high-performing academic environment
