Job Description
Who we are
We are looking for an MCP & Integrations Technical Operations Lead to jointly own the technical direction and day-to-day operation of the integration service. The role combines hands-on engineering leadership with production responsibility, covering architecture, design and code review, release planning, deployment, observability, incident coordination, and continuous improvement.
The lead must remain technically hands-on while defining standards and guiding the team. The role will coordinate closely with Platform, Security, IAM, and dependent product teams to ensure integrations are secure, scalable, supportable, and operated through clear procedures, monitoring, runbooks, and rollback mechanisms.
What you'll be doing
- Define and evolve the technical architecture for MCP services, agent tools, APIs, authentication flows, and enterprise integrations
- Lead backend and integration engineers while retaining hands-on involvement in design, coding, troubleshooting, and technically complex changes
- Establish engineering standards for Python services, API contracts, MCP tools, authentication, authorization, testing, observability, security, and data isolation by user
- Review solution designs, pull requests, critical code changes, and integration patterns to ensure quality, consistency, maintainability, and operational readiness
- Plan and coordinate releases, production verification, rollback procedures, environment promotion, and dependency management
- Define monitoring, alerts, dashboards, logs, traces, service health indicators, runbooks, escalation paths, and support procedures
- Coordinate diagnosis and resolution of production incidents, drive root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed
- Own operational practices for Azure-hosted services, including Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Application Insights/Azure Monitor, and CI/CD pipelines
- Coordinate technical dependencies and incidents with Platform, Security, IAM, DevOps, and other service owners
- Ensure OAuth/OIDC implementations, permission models, credential handling, secrets, and user-level data isolation meet security and compliance expectations
- Mentor engineers, improve reusable patterns, reduce operational risk, and drive continuous improvement of the integration platform and service
What you'll bring along
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 8+ years of experience
- Strong experience leading backend, API, or integration-platform teams without losing hands-on technical capability
- Deep knowledge of API architecture, Python, MCP or agent-tool patterns, REST, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, authentication, authorization, and enterprise security
- Strong understanding of user-level authorization, permission boundaries, secure secret handling, and data isolation in multi-user services
- Hands-on experience operating services in Azure, especially Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Application Insights/Azure Monitor, and deployment pipelines
- Experience defining and enforcing engineering standards, design-review practices, code-review criteria, release controls, and rollback strategies
- Strong production-operations experience, including observability, alerting, incident management, root-cause analysis, runbooks, and support procedures
- Ability to reason across application, API, identity, permissions, data, infrastructure, and external-service dependencies
- Experience coordinating technical work with Platform, Security, IAM, DevOps, and enterprise application teams
- Knowledge of Microsoft Graph and enterprise platforms such as Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Jira, Confluence, GitLab, or Azure DevOps is valuable
- Proven experience owning the technical delivery and production operation of backend or integration services
- Demonstrable ability to lead architecture and engineering decisions while contributing directly to implementation and troubleshooting when required
- Experience managing releases, production incidents, technical dependencies, and service improvements in enterprise environments
- Strong communication, documentation, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills across technical and operational teams
- Professional working proficiency in English to coordinate effectively with international engineering, platform, security, and operations teams
- Participation in an on-call or support rota should apply only when explicitly defined as part of the final employment offer and operating model
