Job Description

We are seeking experienced Major Component

Exchange Technicians with practical on-site component exchange experience on
Nordex N90 turbines to support a dedicated generator exchange campaign
running from September 2026 through March 2027. This role is primarily
focused on the removal, replacement, and commissioning of generators on
Nordex N90 turbines, with some exposure to related mechanical repairs as
needed to support the campaign.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities shall include the following:

Generator Exchange

  • Perform the removal and replacement of generators on Nordex N90 wind
    turbines as the primary focus of this campaign.
  • Utilize hydraulic torquing and tensioning tools and other
    specialized equipment for safe and efficient generator exchange.
  • Support generator alignment, mounting, and mechanical reassembly
    according to OEM procedures.
  • Assist with related major component work (gearbox, main shaft,
    blade) as needed to support overall campaign scheduling.

Mechanical & Electrical Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using voltage
    testers, multimeters, amp clamps, and infrared testers.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems related to generator performance and
    connections to minimize turbine downtime.

Commissioning & Testing

  • Support commissioning and functional testing of newly installed
    generators to confirm proper operation.
  • Document and report on commissioning activities and results.

Training & Crew Support

  • Provide on-site training for internal and external technicians on
    generator exchange procedures as needed.
  • Support the coordination and review of subcontractor work, including
    accepting work schedules.
  • Lead or support crane and rigging activities safely and effectively.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare reports on the replacement of generators and related
    components.
  • Document all work performed using company reporting procedures.
  • Communicate site status and progress to project leads and customers.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe
    working environment.
  • Maintain required training and certifications.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulatory
    requirements.

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Essential:

  • Significant experience working on wind turbines, with practical
    on-site generator or major component exchange experience.
  • Familiarity with tools such as voltage testers, multimeters, amp
    clamps, infrared testers, and hydraulic torquing/tensioning tools.
  • Experience with mobile cranes and hydraulic/electric torque tool
    handling.
  • Physically able to safely climb a wind turbine generator up to 140
    meters.
  • Good communication skills in English, spoken and written.
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites and commit to the
    full campaign duration (September 2026 through March 2027).

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience specifically with generator exchange on the Nordex
    N90 platform.
  • GWO certifications.
  • Rigger/signal person certification and crane calling certification.
  • Ability to be certified and work with medium and high-voltage
    equipment.
