
Memory Care Life Enrichment Coordinator
Water's Edge Assisted Living of Bradenton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Memory Care Life Enrichment Coordinator to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors with dementia and other cognitive limitations by creating engaging, inspiring, and supportive activities that promote well-being and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, and implement a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents’ cognitive abilities and interests
- Foster a positive and stimulating environment through music, recreational therapy, and other creative engagement methods
- Motivate and inspire residents to participate actively in daily activities, promoting socialization and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and resident needs
- Monitor and document residents’ responses to activities, adjusting approaches as necessary
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all residents during activities
Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience in recreational therapy, preferably with seniors experiencing dementia or cognitive limitations
- Strong understanding of dementia and cognitive impairment care strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging seniors through diverse activities
- Ability to motivate and inspire residents to participate in daily programs
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards seniors
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in recreational therapy or related fields are a plus
