
Life Enrichment Director - Memory Care Unit
Grand Villa Port Charlotte is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Life Enrichment Director to lead our Memory Care Unit. This vital role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors with dementia and other memory-related challenges by creating engaging, therapeutic, and personalized activities. The ideal candidate will bring experience in developing innovative programs that promote well-being, social interaction, and cognitive engagement, fostering a warm and supportive environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive life enrichment program tailored to residents with dementia and memory impairments.
- Facilitate recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being.
- Assess individual resident needs and preferences to develop personalized activity plans.
- Collaborate with care staff and family members to ensure activities align with residents’ health and emotional needs.
- Lead and supervise activity staff, volunteers, and interns to ensure high-quality program delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as needed to maximize resident engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress.
- Stay informed about best practices and innovative approaches in memory care and therapeutic recreation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in activity programming within senior living, memory care, or related healthcare settings.
- Strong understanding of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other cognitive impairments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop creative, engaging, and therapeutic activities tailored to diverse resident needs.
- Certification in recreational therapy, activity director, or related field preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing residents’ quality of life.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
