Maximo Applications Suite (MAS) Specialist

*This job is eligible for relocation assistance to aid with the costs associated with moving to the Colorado Springs area

The Maximo team within the Information Technology department is hiring a MAS Applications Senior for IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Administration. In this position, you will provide system support for our water, gas, and electric utility operations. The work that you do is critical to maintaining the data integrity, reliability, compliance, and security of our MAS System. Your curiosity, ability to solve complex problems, and desire to utilize and develop your technical skills will enable Operations to continually improve processes, identify cost savings, and address operational challenges through the effective use and implementation of our MAS system.

You will be responsible for collaborating with enterprise customers to provide best practices, development, and implementation of MAS solutions that increase efficiencies across the organization. The MAS system you will support in this position is integrated with other enterprise systems, which make up a complex set of hardware and software architectures. This includes but is not limited to industrial instrumentation, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), financial, procurement, supply chain, and other software solutions.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Collaborate effectively, share ideas, and work towards common goals with utility operations, financial, procurement, and supply chain to support programs, projects, and initiatives using MAS applications
  • Provide MAS technical support in User Management, Troubleshooting, Core Data Management, System Configuration, and Reporting
  • Support the planning, development, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of custom solutions within the MAS application framework to improve business processes and increase efficiency across the enterprise, including integrations
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose OpenShift, Containers, database, and software issues
  • Maintain, update, and troubleshoot configurations within the MAS environment
  • Plans and performs Application Backup and Recovery
  • Plan and perform MAS application patching, monitoring, and container management within the Red Hat OpenShift environment under established infrastructure and cybersecurity policies
  • MAS case management, able to work through tasks and issues for the business using the ServiceNow tool.
  • Provides technical assistance to end users and help desk staff
  • Creates and revises reports, process documentation, training manuals, and data entry forms

Please note that the ability to work extended periods to provide operational readiness of the MAS system will be a required aspect of this position.

Highly desired knowledge/skills/expertise include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-4 years of experience using directly related specialized analysis and design techniques.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience supporting IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management Software is required
  • MAS 7.6, 8.x, 9.x system configuration in Org Settings, Financials, Authorization, Start Centers, System Properties, Database Configuration, Application Designer, Domains, Workflow & Escalations, and Cron Tasks
  • MAS 7.6, 8.x, 9.x Logging and Troubleshooting to include logging, Maximo Management Interface (MMI), Kafka Configuration, and Integration Monitoring
  • Experience with Work order Module, Configuration module (Application Designer, Database Configuration, Escalation, Cron Task), Administration module (Organization, Calendars, Report Administration, Classification)
  • Experience with Assets, Chart of Accounts, Maximo Integration framework, Inventory, Planning (job plans and safety plans), preventive maintenance, purchasing (PR, PO, receiving, companies), and Resources (persons, crafts, and labor codes)
  • Basic skills in Red Hat products (OpenShift and Enterprise Linux), programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, and PowerShell), and databases (Oracle, SQL Server, and MongoDB)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
