Job Description
Morrison High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math teacher to join our team. We are seeking a team player with excellent communication skills while fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about mathematics and committed to helping all students succeed. They create an engaging, student-centered classroom that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a growth mindset. The primary coursework to be taught will be Algebra II, Algebra I Foundations, and Algebra II Foundations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to state standards in Mathematics
- Teach a range of courses
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Integrate technology to enhance learning
- Maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives
- Serve as an advisor or support extracurricular activities as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement
- Strong knowledge of Mathematics standards and best instructional practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to student growth and school community
