Established in 1996, Sequel Youth and Family Services at Owens Cross Roads, Alabama is a licensed and academically accredited 42-bed residential treatment facility. The program specializes in treating adolescent females with behavioral disorders. The campus is located in Owens Cross Roads, AL www.sequelyouthservices.com

• Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Teacher provides direct educational services to student population using professionally and educationally acceptable methods and techniques.
• Facilitate learning in controlled environment for adolescents, ages 12 - 18.
• Teach in a safe supportive manner.
• Be involved in multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Contribute to execution of set IEP guidelines.
• Maintain safe and supporting classroom environment.
• Maintain student progress reports.
Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related discipline.
• Must possess an Alabama State Teacher's Certification in Secondary Education.
• Experience with adolescents ages 12 -18 or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exceptional verbal and written skills are required to develop educational curriculum and to instruct students.
• The successful candidate will have the ability to write assessments and lessons plans as well as well as the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret educational and program assessments.

Founded in 1999, Sequel Youth & Family Services is a leading national behavioral health organization that develops and operates a broad continuum of treatment programs for children, adolescents, adults, and families with severe behavioral health, emotional, and physical challenges. Our diverse client population struggling with severe behavioral, addiction, psychiatric, emotional, or conduct disorders, as well as autism and other comorbidities.

The Sequel Network is comprised of 39 programs in 20 states and serves the behavioral health journey over the client lifetime ranging from Autism spectrum disorder services to residential treatment services for behavioral health, child welfare, and juvenile justice clients. These programs and services are offered in a variety of different types of facilities including out in the community or in clinics, therapeutic day schools, therapeutic boarding schools, secure and staff-secure residential facilities, or PRTF’s (psychiatric residential treatment facilities).
