Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time MFM Sonographer to work with our Maternal Fetal Medicine Department.

MFM Sonographers are responsible for ensuring and providing quality services in all US tests & procedures performed at the main Perinatal center, 3North and PNC-MU locations of Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, clarifying and/or confirming orders
  • Accurate and timely documentation of procedures/tests
  • Competent understanding and operation of all US equipment
  • Understanding and performance of Disinfection and quality control procedures.
  • Mentoring students and fostering an atmosphere of learning
  • Participating in collection and reporting of data used in performance and process improvement activities

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Junior College/Technical School required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Registered sonographer (ARDMS) required.
  • OB registry required.
  • NT/NB certification preferred.
  • Maternal fetal medicine experience preferred.

The kind of position-related experience includes:

  • Good working knowledge of anatomy, pathology, medical terminology and application software. Ability to skillfully operate US scanner and related patient support equipment is required. Adherence to established procedure protocols.
  • Working knowledge of all US examinations, exam preps and other information pertinent to placing orders and verifying appropriateness.
