As a Materials Specialist, you will plan material requirements and execute purchase orders for complex assemblies, balancing inventory levels with customer delivery commitments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create and issue internal orders and other applicable documents to meet parts and material requirements
  • Maintain daily shortage report to track orders and communicate status to management.
  • Search inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity to meet current requirements; creates requisitions for any part shortages.
  • Assist with the load/unloading of shipments and assist with the receiving of critical parts
  • Reconcile accompanying shipping documents with actual parts and materials received
  • Work with purchasing staff and accounts payable to process, track and resolve payment issues.
  • Update on-line record systems and participate in cycle counts, perpetual and work-in- progress inventories.
  • Prepare parts and coordinates RTV (return to vendor) inventory for non-conformances.
  • Utilize supplier Remote Order Entry (ROE) systems and online web sites for placing orders when applicable.
  • Maintain files for follow-up on material purchased, expedite orders as needed and update the purchase order with the applicable receipt date
  • Expedite parts to ensure that they are in the Facility when needed for maintenance.
  • Create and expedite repair orders for customer units or exchange cores.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a materials coordination or inventory control capacity.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Professional experience working in aerospace/aviation.
  • Proficient in AS400, ERP/MRP planning modules and Excel analytics.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures, demand planning and procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and supplier‑relationship skills.
