At Eaton’s Lakeside facility, we don’t just manufacture components—we engineer precision. As a global leader in conveyance systems for the aerospace and defense industry, our site delivers mission-critical hoses, couplings, ducting, and sealing solutions that power some of the world’s most advanced aircraft. This is where innovation meets reliability, and where every product plays a role in keeping fleets airborne and operations secure.
The Material Operations Manager is responsible for leading all internal materials, logistics, and short‑term scheduling activities within the Eaton manufacturing facility. This role ensures maximum adherence to the Master Production Schedule (MPS) developed through the SIOP process, driving material availability, operational efficiency, and on‑time execution across the plant.
Core Responsibilities:
Own short‑term production scheduling aligned with the S&OE process and the plan defined by the Network Planning team.
Maintain high inventory accuracy through disciplined cycle counting and controlled material‑movement processes.
Oversee the movement, storage, internal transportation, and distribution of materials throughout the facility.
Manage all site logistics activities, including internal receipts, warehouse operations, and outbound shipments.
Deploy lean material‑flow strategies to optimise efficiency and reduce waste.
Administer indirect and MRO purchasing in accordance with Eaton procurement policies and standards.
Monitor execution of the production schedule, including labour coordination and daily operational alignment.
Escalate material‑availability risks to the COE and Network teams to protect schedule adherence.
Drive forecast attainment in alignment with the MPS and SIOP outputs.
Execute shipment schedules that meet customer priority dates in coordination with Customer Service and Network teams.
Champion continuous improvement using tools such as MMA, OPA, visual management, standard work, and value‑stream mapping.
Maintain target inventory levels and achieve on‑time delivery goals for internal and external customers, including freight‑cost and premium‑freight performance.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of plant‑owned data, including routings, WMS transactions, MRO records, shipping and receiving data, part movements, and scheduling parameters.
Serve as the primary escalation point for issues impacting execution of the overall SIOP plan.
