General Summary:
We are a large-scale R&D and advanced manufacturing site specializing in high-mix, low-volume production. We are seeking an experienced Materials PlanningManager to support execution in this complex environment—balancing agility, precision, and speed.
This role is critical in ensuring material readiness and operational alignment across multiple concurrent programs, enabling on-time delivery in a dynamic product landscape.
What You’ll Do
Develop and manage material planning strategies to support multiple concurrent programs
Coordinate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management and Production to ensure material readiness for builds and NPI activities
Identify, anticipate, and mitigate material risks, shortages, and supply constraints
Support production planning and scheduling aligned with program priorities and engineering changes
Facilitate cross-functional alignment on build readiness, material status, and change impacts
Drive process improvements and standardization in material planning and scheduling workflows
Optimize planning tools and processes to handle high-mix, low-volume complexity
Track and report key metrics related to material availability, delivery performance, and execution
Core Responsibilities
1. Material Planning & Execution
Ensure timely availability of materials across multiple active programs
Manage material allocation in a high-mix, low-volume environment
Support engineering builds, pilot runs, and NPI through effective planning
Act as a key interface between Supply Chain, Production, Program Managementand Engineering
2. Production Planning Support
Coordinate production schedules with material readiness and program priorities
Support scheduling decisions based on material constraints and demand changes
Manage trade-offs between availability, cost, and delivery timelines
3. Process Optimization
Improve material planning workflows and tools to increase efficiency and visibility
Develop scalable processes to manage frequent product changes and variability
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with Supply Chain, Program Management,Engineering, and Production teams
Ensure alignment in a fast-paced R&D manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Required Experience
7–12+ years in material planning, supply chain, or production planning
Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or R&D environments
Experience supporting engineering, NPI, or prototypebuilds
Core Competencies
Strong material planning expertise in complex, variable environments
Solid understanding of supply-demand planning and production constraints
Ability to work with frequent engineering changes and evolving requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective cross-functional communication
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
Experience leading a Planning Team
Experience with MES, ERP, or production planning systems
Familiarity with high-mix manufacturing environments
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 7-12+ years in material planning, supply chain, or production planning.
