Queensland Rail is seeking to connect with a Materials Officer to work within our Townsville Depot on a permanent full time basis. As a Materials Officer, you will have an important role to play to ensure the supply of components for the rollingstock, and equipment and materials for the on-site team. This includes the ordering, storage and retrieval of inventory required to keep the fleet in service.

Hours

You will work a 9-day fortnight working between the hours of 07.00 – 16.00.

Purpose that counts. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Use forklift and loader to load, unload and maintain materials
  • Arrange delivery for important materials from southeast Queensland to Townsville and across regional Queensland
  • Inventory management – ensuring adequate levels of stock for local projects and comply with safety requirements
  • Record all stock movements through computer generated documents
  • Maintain accurate physical inventory and report discrepancies to supervisor
  • Ensure warehouse is kept clean, tidy and free of hazards

We are looking to connect with someone who has

  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
  • Inventory management experience (preferred)
  • National C Class Drivers Licence
  • Ability to be on your feet, lift and manoeuvre materials for your shift
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
