Makes optimal tradeoffs between schedule, resources, and scope, and applies supply-chain knowledge to coordinate program design and address materials shortages within schedule and budget constraints.

Key job responsibilities
The New Product Introduction (NPI), Materials Manager is responsible for all activities related to order fulfillment, from NPI build plans to xVT build delivery, including day-to-day communication and management of the EMS partner globally. This person is organized, proactive, has a business orientation and is responsible for working within the local and remote Operations and cross functional teams driving xVT build order fulfillment. In this role, you will:
- Act as the primary liaison between EMS and project core team monitoring, managing and driving the EMS to assure goals/schedule is being met
- Work together with the Materials Program Manager (MPM), to communicate the xVT build plan and build matrix and verify fulfillment from a materials perspective
- Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate any shortages preventing meeting material order schedule, including assisting in sourcing materials as required
- Schedule and host meetings with suppliers in US and/or globally as required reducing and eliminating shortages
- Schedule and host meetings with cross-functional program team in US and/or globally as required reducing and eliminating shortages
- Be responsible for timely and accurate report generation and distribution
- Together with MPM, will represent the materials organization in internal program meetings
- Some travel may be required

A day in the life
• Responsible for NPI CTB
• E&O Management
• Identify supply risk, resolve bottlenecks
• Provide escalation management
• Assist in development of BOM structure
• Collaborate with cross functional teams on all required PDP doc’s

About the team
This role will directly report to Winnie Hong (hiring manager), in direct report to Jenny Loh, Sr. Manager MPM.

Basic Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations experience
- Experience in program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation process
- Experience measuring key operational metrics (e.g., order cycle time, ship estimate accuracy, on-time and complete shipment, inventory record defect rate)
- Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience developing tools, reports, process maps, scorecards, and data visualizations that improve upon those currently employed for understanding the business and making decisions
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization, including coaching of junior staff
