Job Description

Materials Manager

We currently seek a Materials Manager to join our division located in Carrollton, GA, and help support our continued business growth.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Warehouse Supervisor, Buyers, and Inventory Control Supervisor.
  • Plan materials for product, based on order demand.
  • Utilize materials in the most efficient manner by implementing utilization of “shorts” produced in the processes.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy of materials, tooling and supplies.
  • Conduct staff and employee meetings
  • Administration of company policy, including discussion and review with supervisor and individual, company policy issues and disciplinary action.
  • Manage information flow between departments.
  • Implementation of projects and methods, which lead to continuous improvement.
  • Staffing and planning for current and future needs.

Key qualifications include

Bachelor's Degree

  • Five to seven years manufacturing experience, with strong emphasis on warehouse or materials management.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Applications and Production Tracking.
  • Good time management, setting priorities, motivational and organizational skills.
  • Strong background in managing labor, materials and cost.
  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) and or ISM certification preferred.
  • Support development and use of Supplier Rating System.
  • SAP 6.0 ERP experience preferred with a strong background in Materials Management and Sales/Distribution modules.
