Job Description

Location: San Fernando,Central Luzon,Philippines

The Materials Engineer is responsible for evaluating, developing, and improving materials for project use. This role ensures that materials meet performance, safety, and sustainability standards while supporting cost efficiency and innovation. The Materials Engineer collaborates with project teams, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to optimize material selection, testing, and application across diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate material performance through testing, analysis, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Develop and improve materials for structural, mechanical, and environmental applications
  • Recommend material selection based on project requirements, durability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Review and apply regulations to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards
  • Conduct failure analysis and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for material usage and performance
  • Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of quality materials
  • Support sustainability initiatives by recommending eco-friendly and cost-efficient alternatives
  • Assist in research and development projects to innovate new materials and improve existing ones
  • Perform other duties as required to support project execution and organizational goals

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in materials engineering
  • Strong knowledge of construction material properties
  • Proficiency in testing methods, laboratory analysis, and quality assurance standards
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and sustainability practices
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare clear technical reports and collaborate across teams
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking for material selection and failure analysis
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to manage projects and coordinate with stakeholders
