Your Opportunity  

Due to recent large project wins, we have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Engineer to be part of our Materials team in Melbourne. In this varied role you will have an opportunity to get experience working on major Australian and international infrastructure projects. You will be involved in both new design and existing asset assessment in this role. You will support delivery of materials engineering and durability services across major infrastructure projects, with a focus on practical, inspection-led assessment and long-term asset performance.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and review durability strategies for concrete, steel, and composite structures

  • Undertake condition assessments and service life evaluations

  • Interpret inspection data and providing engineering judgement on asset performance

  • Prepare technical reports and remediation recommendations

  • Provide input across design, construction, and maintenance phases

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

  • Contribute to proposals and technical submissions

About you  

Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Materials Engineering or related discipline

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in infrastructure materials or durability engineering

  • Experience in inspection, condition assessment, or asset remediation

  • Strong understanding of durability, material performance, and service life design

  • Ability to apply engineering judgement to real-world asset condition issues

Desirable:

  • Experience working on major infrastructure projects

  • Chartered or working towards chartership
