Job Description

The Materials Driver I is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of raw materials and finished goods between bioMérieux locations. This role supports warehouse and manufacturing operations by performing physical material handling, executing real‑time system transactions, and upholding all cGMP, ISO, and FDA requirements. The position also contributes to lean practices, workplace organization, and efficient material flow to internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a medium‑ to large‑sized box truck while adhering to all State and Federal vehicle regulations.
  • Follow OSHA warehouse safety guidelines and all internal safety policies.
  • Drive designated delivery routes as assigned by leadership.
  • Physically and electronically move materials to designated locations using warehouse equipment.
  • Perform pre‑trip vehicle inspections and monitor maintenance needs.
  • Verify quality of delivered materials.
  • Receive, count, and store incoming materials from multiple suppliers.
  • Log logistics KPI data and maintain bins and shelving.
  • Replenish materials daily in support of internal customers (“Just in Time”).
  • Process material transactions to ensure accuracy across all departmental activities.
  • Accurately log, label, track, and transport material lot information in Warehouse Management systems.
  • Support identification and movement of non‑conforming materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid Utah Driver’s License.
  • No prior experience required (some experience preferred).

Preferred

  • Materials handling experience in medical device or regulated environments.
  • Forklift certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to wear PPE most of the day.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • No travel required (0% domestic; 0% international).
  • Must be able to work in warehouse environments with variable temperatures, repetitive motion, and extended periods of standing/bending.
  • Must be able to operate warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Overtime may be required.

The pay for this role is $19.00 an hour. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
