Job Description
Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Also ensuring that required materials are issued to site in line with project requirements, through liaising with construction manager and logistics provider.
- Providing leadership to the warehouse team
- Compliance with Wood supply chain procedures
- Timely issuing and management of required materials to job sites
- Arranging in country material movement from PNG suppliers where required
- Ensuring goods receipts in procurement system and allocation to warehouse location
- Ensure adequate systems tracking of material status whilst materials are in transit and at warehouse
- Maintaining data integrity in Procurement & materials systems
- Assuring material deliveries aligned to inbound transport/supply schedules
- Flexibility required, as some hands-on warehousing duties will be required
- Driving the warehouse function to ensure incident free operations, outstanding customer service and cost competitiveness
- Ensuring the key processes within the warehouse is effective and highly visible
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement for warehousing.
- 5+ years’ experience in similar role
- Strong, enthusiastic commitment and approach to personal safety
- Previous experience in a complex Warehouse Management role
- Knowledge of logistics (carriers, shipping policies & procedures)
- The ability to analyse and solve complex problems
- Thorough working knowledge of warehouse management system application Expertise in coordinating risk assessments & JSA’s
- Understanding of equipment vendor and materials fabricator storage, handling, preservation and despatch requirements
- The ability to work with the shop floor through to the Senior Management level
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Customer focused service skills
- Sound communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels across the contract
- Business software competency (MS Office/Oracle/VPRM)
- Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
