General Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and optimizing mini-business operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and cost objectives in core, melting, and finishing areas. Supports workforce development through training, contributes to reducing both internal and external scrap, and drives initiatives to improve overall productivity and operational efficiency.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage operating costs within the production areas.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Monitor key performance indicators related to production, efficiency, scrap, and productivity.
• Through testing, analysis, and research, develops new materials to optimize costs and improve efficiency.
• Analyze performance indicators to identify opportunities for improving productivity, efficiency, and material consumption in Core, Melting and Molding.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, process specifications, and customer requirements.
• Work collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, engineering, and planning teams to ensure operational continuity.

• Knowledge of chemical and thermal analysis methods.
• Knowledge of metallurgical production processes for gray and Ductile Iron
• Solid knowledge of metallurgical production processes for gray and ductile iron, including casting and treatment methods.
• Ability to adapt rapidly to changing environments.

Working Conditions:
• The Materials Control Engineer (Mini business) will reside in the office and on the production floor. Must be able to adhere to conditions in the plant.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering or Materials Engineering,
• 2 or more years of experience in Gray or Ductile Iron foundry operations.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Core Tools.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and/or IATF 16949:2016 standards.
• Project management skills.
