Job Description
We are looking for a Materials Clerk to support our repack and fulfillment facility near South Bend, IN. The Clerk will support daily operations by managing inventory, tracking supplies, and ensuring efficient material flow to meet production needs.
Initial operations will typically run one day shift, Monday through Friday, but may change based on customer needs and program growth.
Key Skills & Competencies
1. MATERIAL COORDINATION & INVENTORY ACCURACY
Critical Skills: attention to detail, inventory control, workflow consistency, basic math, English literacy, reliability
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate picking activities to meet production schedule requirements.
• Prepare work orders for handoff to production staff.
• Coordinate the return of materials back into the warehouse following production use.
• Verify material counts for accuracy and post systematic adjustments as needed.
• Monitor daily cycle counts of production and packaging materials. Coordinate with customer for replenishment requests.
• Verify the condition of all stock to ensure usability and compliance with quality standards.
• Record and monitor the inventory of materials, ensuring accurate counts and timely updates to inventory records.
• Schedule inbound material deliveries from suppliers.
• Manage inventory levels of raw and finished goods.
• Manage schedule of materials per customer schedule.
• Communicate with the customer and OEM plants as needed.
• Perform data entry for inventory and non-inventory items, including purchase orders and receipts.
• Maintain complete, accurate material flow to support uninterrupted production operations.
2. OPERATIONAL SUPPORT & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Responsibilities:
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment through compliance with company procedures and best practices.
• Maintain relevant procedures, processes, and work instructions related to material handling and inventory control.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support enhancements to documentation, material handling, inventory management, or workflow.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.
• Utilize all required systems, programs, and equipment to effectively complete assigned tasks.
3. COMMUNICATION & TEAM COLLABORATION
Critical Skills: communication, collaboration, task coordination, written and verbal communication
Responsibilities:
• Communicate regularly and effectively with team members and leadership.
• Ensure smooth information flow to support material movement and production readiness.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve material issues quickly and accurately.
• Demonstrate reliability, follow through, and a positive approach to support the team.
4. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations and customer needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 1 year in warehousing or distribution – automotive preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent – preferred
