Job Description

The Materials Associate I is responsible for supporting the movement, staging, and organization of materials throughout the facility. This position focuses on safe operation of material handling equipment, accurate execution of material handling tasks, and maintaining cleanliness and order in work areas. This role contributes to the department by ensuring materials are available where and when needed.

A forklift license is required

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Move materials between designated storage and production areas
  • Deliver raw materials, packaging, and supplies to assigned locations
  • Assist with the physical staging of work orders or components
  • Complete basic labeling, wrapping, or sorting tasks
  • Maintain clear and organized material staging zones
  • Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and material rotation practices
  • Assist with waste removal and organization of empty containers
  • Support team with receiving and shipping functions as assigned
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Willingness to learn ERP and barcode scanning systems
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and physically demanding environments
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Forklift certification required or willingness to obtain

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent lifting, bending, walking, and standing
  • Must be able to work in cold storage environments (average 40°F, occasionally -4°F)
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
