Job Description

Superior Water, Light and Power (SWL&P), an ALLETE company, provides electricity, water, and natural gas to customers in Superior, Wisconsin, and adjacent areas. Its offices are in Superior in northwestern Wisconsin across the St. Louis River from Duluth, Minnesota, where ALLETE is headquartered. SWL&P has served this region for more than 130 years and today has 15,000 electric customers, 13,000 natural gas customers and 10,000 water customers. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with analysis and evaluation of materials and service needs for SWL&P.
  • Analyze and manage inventory through forecasting projects, seasonal and emergency demands.
  • Acquire and distribute materials in a cost effective and timely manner, including determining inventory levels.
  • Maintain and verify records, complying with rules/laws/regulations.
  • Coordinate and schedule inventory activities for employees and contractors and communicates frequently with vendors that serve the Company.
  • Assist in cross-functional teams and provides analytical support for projects.
  • Process systems that support business strategies are designed, tested, implemented, documented and evaluated.
  • Coordinate and assist with training.
  • Effective performance required to assure materials and services are available to meet corporate goals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent.
    • Additional experience or training in utility industry Operations, purchasing, or inventory administration desirable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • No experience required

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position will report regularly in person to Superior, WI.
  • Requires good interpersonal, technical and communication skills to establish and maintain productive working relationships and to enhance effective Operations.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $52,000 - $64,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
