General Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The primary goal of this position is to support the efforts of the department manager ensuring supplies are accounted for and available as needed to support operational needs.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $100,00 Annually

Essential Functions

  • Ensure department personnel are aware of and follow safety procedures daily within the plant.
  • Supervise staff and coordinate their activities under the direction of the department manager. Assign and monitor special projects.
  • In support of the department manager, analyze parts history to establish adequate inventory to maintain levels to maintain the operation of the plant. Ensure levels are maintained.
  • Verify daily cycle count variances. Investigate and analyze and recommend solutions to resolve issues to the department manager.
  • Evaluate systems for accuracy. Make recommendations to the department manager for change/upgrade and oversee any necessary training.
  • Identify obsolete inventory. Research and implement a plan to dispose of necessary parts while controlling expendable items. Review and coordinate physical storage of parts with employees to maximize department efficiency.

Internal Control Responsibilities:

Supports the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures and controls to better relate to the business.

Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.

Job Conditions:

This position primarily performs work in a warehouse environment and is sedentary in nature. This role will be subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. However, there could be occasions when the worker may need to enter the mill or other production areas, where they will be exposed to outdoor and/or plant conditions. PPE is required and will be provided when this is the case.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of previous experience in shipping and receiving, materials management, or inventory control preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Automated inventory control experience preferred
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:

This position is primarily sedentary, performed at a desk in a warehouse/office environment, though it requires continual use of hands and wrists for keyboarding, filing, grasping, and reaching for supplies, files, and equipment throughout the day. The role also involves frequent standing, walking, and stair/ladder climbing on a daily basis, with occasional stooping, kneeling, and pushing, pulling, or lifting of items up to 30 pounds within the warehouse. Strong sensory capabilities are essential, as the position demands continual talking, hearing, and vision to read monitors, communicate procedures, and interact regularly with vendors, suppliers, and mill employees in both quiet office and loud production settings.
