Eaton’s PCS division is currently seeking a Material Planner to join the team. This is an onsite role, based at the Delta, BC facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $69000 - $87000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The primary function of this role is to ensure an acceptable level of material availability to support the master production schedule. Part of this role will assess, establish, and execute the planning, ordering, scheduling of material, including internally and externally sourced parts.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Supply Chain: Review MRP Workbench and action planned orders and exception messages to ensure material availability and control inventory levels. Trigger Kanban orders to ensure material availability and reduce cycle time. (shared between production and planner). Review overdue Kanban orders and expedite as needed. Maintain material escalation trackers to ensure material availability. Responsible for end to end of material planning and procurement process. Work with Purchasing dept. to communicate with supplies (internal & external) on Material quality, on-time deliveries & overall performance (supplier evaluation).
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to meet financial goals. Review and disposition depreciated inventory (E&O, Surplus, Invalid AMO). Consume, return to supplier, rework or scrap. Issue and receive non-conformance reports and determine disposition where responsible. Communicate material requirements/forecasts to internal/external suppliers and stakeholders. Maintain item master and Kanban data including lead time, sourcing and stock types. Assess and reschedule POs to ensure material availability and control inventory levels. Coordinate and run Physical Inventories (PI) on a quarterly basis
  • Purchasing: Work and communicate with internal leadership on Material quality, on-time deliveries & overall performance (supplier evaluation). Resolve Invoice on hold concerns for prompt supplier payment. Maintain PO dates, pricing and status. Request quotes for price and delivery as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement appropriate continual process improvement and cost-saving ideas for operations. Coordinate and act as liaison for assigned cost reduction team.
  • Customer Focus: Expedite overdue holding up shipping of customer orders. Communicate with Eaton Care and Sales to ensure customer service. Work with co-workers to ensure to ensure customer is satisfied.

An ideal candidate demonstrates strong expertise in purchasing techniques and supplier management, complemented by solid proficiency in MRP systems, Oracle and MS Office tools such as Excel and Access. You thrive in fast-paced environments, effectively managing multiple priorities through strong time management skills. With excellent communication abilities, you collaborate cross-functionally while leveraging analytical thinking to solve complex problems. You also bring a strong technical understanding of electrical distribution. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a material planning (or related) role
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
  • No relocation provided. This role requires working onsite at our Delta, BC office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience supporting supply chain function, preferably in the electrical field, distribution, and/or manufacturing settings
  • 2 years of experience using an MRP / ERP system
  • 1 year experience of working in design-for-manufacturing or an Engineered-to-Order environment
  • 1 year experience with Lean and Six Sigma Tools, Six Sigma Green or Black belt
  • Completed or working towards APICS certification
