The Position

As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for identifying, procuring, and planning the timely delivery of components required to support manufacturing operations and exceed customer expectations. Daily standard work includes reviewing, releasing, expediting purchase orders through ERP/MRP, updating material availability reports, supporting logistics through tracking and scheduling shipments, assisting with inventory management initiatives and participating in continuous improvement exercises.

There will be a high-level of participation with customers on various platforms related to supply chain. You will work very closely with Supply Chain colleagues responsible for Sourcing, Planning and Quality management.

The Location

We are located at 8860 Smith's Mill Road,New Albany, OH 43054.This is a hybrid position, with minimum of 3 days per week required onsite.

Additional Job Details
  • Analyzes demand and exercises purchasing decisions for both direct and indirect materials while meeting both customer and Alene manufacturing requirements.
  • Participate in the S&OP process to be fully knowledgeable on both customer demand and available capacity as it pertains to materials.
  • Communicate forecast information to suppliers as needed.
  • Review, prioritize, and schedule delivery of materials to meet target manufacturing start dates while not generating excess inventories.
  • Supports plant quality management system (Engineering Change Orders, Deviations, CAPA’s).
  • Maintains site level planning attributes for inventory parts including lead times, safety stock, and part set up
  • Participate in customer status update calls as required and daily production meetings.
  • Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information.
  • Proactively provides material updates and tracking for component deliverables as needed.
  • Support supplier scorecard management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers/suppliers.
  • Work closely with Sourcing to successfully launch new products and programs.
  • Complete projects and assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an operations environment (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Administrative).
  • Experienced with ERP systems or databases.
  • Experience understanding and maintaining MRP recommendations and exceptions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skill-sets – Excel in particular.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • CPIM or CPSM certification preferred.
  • Relevant experience in consumer goods.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interaction with customer facing departments.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
