About this role

As a Material Planner at Kidde-Fenwal, we are looking for someone who will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials throughout our supply chain. Take responsibility for managing the procurement, planning, and scheduling of materials to meet production demands while optimizing inventory levels. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scheduling and order fulfillment based on allocated product lines
  • Participate in the development of standardized processes within materials planning and SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning), optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery
  • Interact with Product Managers to develop demand forecasts
  • Support in planning capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations
  • Engage with the manufacturing team, to develop the monthly production volume planning using the business forecast, inventory position, actual customer orders, and the defined capacity parameters
  • Accountable for appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement. i.e. inventory levels
  • Supports Quality initiatives
  • Work with Purchasing and Sourcing to ensure material demand is accurate and maintained
  • Handle the material disposition via the ECO/ECI process

Basic Qualifications

  • High School GED
  • 5 years of experience in scheduling, planning or operations management

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • BA BS degree
  • ERP System experience, JDE or Oracle Based Systems a plus
  • APICS or equivalent Materials Management exposure preferred
