Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our SUPPLY CHAIN team as a:

Material Planner

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow to support production operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role manages supplier schedules, monitors inventory levels, coordinates logistics activities, and works cross-functionally with production, purchasing, warehouse, logistics, and suppliers to maintain on-time delivery and optimize inventory performance.

The Material Planner plays a critical role in minimizing production downtime, reducing excess inventory, and supporting overall plant efficiency and customer delivery performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Plan and manage raw materials, components, and packaging inventory to support production schedules.

  • Monitor daily material requirements using ERP/MRP systems.

  • Release supplier schedules, purchase orders, and forecast updates.

  • Track supplier delivery performance and escalate shortages or delays.

  • Coordinate with production scheduling to adjust material plans based on demand changes.

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Analyze inventory trends, shortages, and usage patterns to support continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely receipt and movement of materials.

  • Support engineering changes, launch activities, and phase-in/phase-out material planning.

  • Conduct cycle count reviews and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.

  • Work with suppliers to improve delivery performance, packaging compliance, and communication.

  • Prepare reports related to inventory, shortages, supplier performance, and production risks.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for material-related disruptions.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.

  • Other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

· Equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience may be considered.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2–5 years of materials planning, supply chain, or inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through completion.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of logistics administration, production planning, purchasing, ERP systems.

  • Time management, organizational, and planning skills.

  • Must be ethical with a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.

  • Familiarity with ISO/TS16949

  • Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.

  • Team player

  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel spreadsheet capabilities.

  • General proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to use standard office equipment and computers regularly.
