Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our SUPPLY CHAIN team as a:
Material Planner
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow to support production operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role manages supplier schedules, monitors inventory levels, coordinates logistics activities, and works cross-functionally with production, purchasing, warehouse, logistics, and suppliers to maintain on-time delivery and optimize inventory performance.
The Material Planner plays a critical role in minimizing production downtime, reducing excess inventory, and supporting overall plant efficiency and customer delivery performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Plan and manage raw materials, components, and packaging inventory to support production schedules.
Monitor daily material requirements using ERP/MRP systems.
Release supplier schedules, purchase orders, and forecast updates.
Track supplier delivery performance and escalate shortages or delays.
Coordinate with production scheduling to adjust material plans based on demand changes.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Analyze inventory trends, shortages, and usage patterns to support continuous improvement.
Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely receipt and movement of materials.
Support engineering changes, launch activities, and phase-in/phase-out material planning.
Conduct cycle count reviews and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.
Work with suppliers to improve delivery performance, packaging compliance, and communication.
Prepare reports related to inventory, shortages, supplier performance, and production risks.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for material-related disruptions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
· Equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience may be considered.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
2–5 years of materials planning, supply chain, or inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through completion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of logistics administration, production planning, purchasing, ERP systems.
Time management, organizational, and planning skills.
Must be ethical with a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
Familiarity with ISO/TS16949
Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.
Team player
Intermediate to Advanced Excel spreadsheet capabilities.
General proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
Able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to use standard office equipment and computers regularly.
