Job Description

This position is responsible for managing material planning and the local supply plan for designated components and raw materials. The primary objective is to ensure timely material availability to support production and achieve organizational goals. The role requires hands-on experience with SAP material management processes, including purchase order handling and inventory control. Additionally, the planner will maintain planning documentation in accordance with the company’s quality management system.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Material Planning Ownership Develop and manage material requirement plans aligned with production schedules, inventory targets, and supply situation. Execute MRP runs and analyze outputs for timely procurement from internal and external suppliers.
  • Demand & Supply Integration Interpret S&OP outputs and work closely with the global supply chain and local teams to ensure component availability via the S&OE process, meeting production targets.
  • Inventory Strategy & Execution Monitor inventory levels and safety stock, manage stock positioning, and evaluate inventory health using KPIs to prevent shortages or excess
  • Risk Management & Escalation Identify supply risks, lead scenario planning, expedite critical materials, and escalate issues, communicating with relevant functions and internal and external suppliers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with supplying plants, production, quality, and logistics teams to resolve material-related issues and support seamless operations.
  • System & Data Governance Maintain accurate master data in SAP (BOMs, material masters, planning parameters) and act as a key user for system enhancements, testing, and training for material planning.
  • Process Improvement Identify and implement improvements to enhance planning accuracy, reduce waste, and improve responsiveness.
  • Regulatory & Internal Compliance Ensure all planning activities comply with internal SOPs, ISO standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in SCM, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in SCM, with at least 5 years focused on material planning, including supplier management
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations.
  • Exposure to and experience with biotech manufacturing and relevant experience in material procurement.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and relevant bolt-on systems.
  • Experience as a Key User in SAP projects involving PP, MM, and WM modules is highly preferred (additional exposure to QM/FI/CO is a plus).
  • Proven experience in driving process improvements, enhancing performance, or achieving cost reductions via continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and problem-solving tools.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and fast decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and influencing skills as a Production Planner, even without formal authority, to drive alignment and results across teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
  • Good command of both English and Korean.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Supply Chain Management certification (e.g., CPIM or CSCP) is strongly preferred.
