The Materials Leader is responsible for establishing and implementing the materials management strategy for the Services business. This role requires understanding historical, current, and future business needs to build the infrastructure necessary to execute business objectives from Inquiry To Order (ITO) through Order To Remittance (OTR).
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
● Establish and implement comprehensive material management strategy across the Services organization
● Develop and communicate vision to maintain and improve materials operational effectiveness while supporting business growth strategy
● Partner with Operations, IS Customer Experience, and Regional Leaders to strategically modify inventory footprint to support growing IS Asset Care Parts business while leveraging data analytics for continuous improvement material initiatives
Materials Management Operations
● Drive process rigor throughout S&OP, field operations and Service Center organizations
● Lead material management across multiple service centers and field sites, including:
○ Setting expectations and process alignment
○ Training and execution oversight
○ Reporting and control for material management and movement activities
● Provide transparent inventory performance reporting to business stakeholders through simple, effective reporting tools
● Manage slow-moving and non-moving materials in partnership with finance teams for accurate reporting
● Develop and implement robust processes for regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory
● Provide functional support for plant and field personnel
Growth & Assembly Operations
● Partner with MW & IS COE and Assembly operations to create repeatable, scalable processes supporting build campaigns for new and existing fleet plus supporting spares
● Lead planning activities including:
○ Lead time planning based on procurement input
○ Warehousing, kitting, and staging requirements
○ Material allocation processes
● Establish standards and best practices to facilitate cross-team collaboration
● Develop processes to promote material re-use
Other Responsibilities:
● Serve as senior point of contact for all materials requirements within Water Tech MWIS, focused on NORAM
● Develop strong master data control and reporting programs
● Drive processes that protect and build high-quality master data
● Drive technical quality, stability, and scalability of solutions
● Identify process improvement opportunities across functions
Leadership & Development
● Manage training needs to ensure effective skill set balance, geographic support, and employee development
● Demonstrate talent and capability growth within indirect teams
● Bachelor's degree in Business administration, supply chain management or similar technical field
(required)
● Minimum 10 years of working experience in relevant field
● At least 5 years in ERP system leadership, planning, or setup
● Prior experience in Materials Management leadership role
Preferred (if applicable):
● Demonstrated leadership position and skills
● Strong knowledge of Veolia products, solutions, and
applications
● Experience leading within a matrixed organization or global engineering function
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
● Strong project management and organizational skills
● Expert skills in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
● Expert level proficiency in SAP (required); Lattice proficiency (preferred)
● Excellent organizational skills
● Strong and clear communication skills (written and verbal)
● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
● Self-driven with ability to work independently without direct daily supervision
● Ability to work in fast-paced environment and deliver business results
● Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously
● Fluent in English (required); Proficiency in French (preferred)
Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $105,000 - 130,000 USD annually.
