ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
General Duties:
Secondary Duties:
• Performs cycle counts as directed.
• Mark locations that are short or contain damaged books for designated short pickers to correct.
• Keep zones throughout the Pick Module stocked with all sizes of cartons
• Affixes New Titles and Laydown Stickers to cartons
• Flag set orders and author signings are identified and applied to double-walled cartons to limit damages in transit
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Short Picker - Uses rolling equipment (forklift), retrieves books, and makes inventory transfers from rack location to forward picking locations. Assists in putting away extra stock.

Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos. Ability to write legibly and effectively communicate one-on-one.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Other skills and abilities:
Basic computer and keyboarding skills and the ability to learn WMS.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; bend; and use hands and arms to feel, grasp, reach, and lift. The employee is regularly required to climb stairs, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
This position requires the employee to walk 5 to 11 miles throughout the shift. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Hours of work: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., with occasional mandatory overtime as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to temperature changes; dust; and working around moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
