Job Summary:**

The Material Handler Press is responsible for safely and efficiently moving, loading, and unloading materials and parts for the press operations, ensuring a continuous flow of production at American Axle & Manufacturing. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and precise material handling techniques.

Job Responsibilities:**

• Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, to transport materials to and from the press area.
• Load and unload raw materials, dies, and finished goods onto/from presses, trucks, and storage areas.
• Verify and document incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accuracy against production schedules and shipping manifests.
• Prepare and stage materials for upcoming press runs, organizing them in an efficient and accessible manner.
• Remove finished parts from press areas and transport them to designated storage or next-stage processing locations.
• Monitor material levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to press operators and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the press and material handling areas.
• Perform routine inspections of material handling equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and proper PPE usage.
• Assist press operators with minor tasks as needed to maintain production flow.

Job Qualifications:**

• Proven experience as a Material Handler, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy materials frequently throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in material handling and documentation.
• Basic understanding of inventory control principles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all company safety regulations.
• Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
