Job Description

Compenstation: $18.00 - $19.00

We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Material Handler to support our Machine Shop operations.

This role is critical in ensuring materials are received, stored, and delivered efficiently to keep production running safely and smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and organize incoming materials into inventory
  • Store materials safely and in proper locations
  • Stage raw materials for machine shop workstations
  • Manage material flow throughout the shop floor
  • Support machine operators as needed
  • Perform ERP/system transactions accurately
  • Assist with identifying and creating storage locations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of machine shop or manufacturing experience
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Comfortable using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable with repetitive movements (lifting, bending, pushing, pulling)
  • Ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced environment

The Council of Industry has been the Hudson Valley's manufacturer’s association since 1910. We are a privately funded, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting our member firms.
