Your Role

The Material Handler is responsible for coordinating and supporting daily material handling operations to ensure materials are moved, stored, and handled safely and efficiently. This role operates material handling equipment as needed, follows established processes and procedures, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment. The Material Handler serves as a role model for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) practices, supports training and development of team members, and actively participates in safety initiatives. The role also works closely with Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to communicate issues and identify opportunities that may impact material handling safety, quality, or production.

1st shift position 5:30 AM – 2:00PM

Duties Include:

  • Full review and submission of completed material transactions in the ERP System.
  • Expert knowledge of material handling processes and procedures, with the ability to coach and guide teams on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaboration with external support functions manufacturing, maintenance, quality, test labs, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and leads material handling shift changeover activities.
  • Leadership – Fills in for supervisor as needed.
  • Participates in process improvement projects as requested, applies Lean principles to problem solving.
  • Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily material handling operations.
  • Cross training on Shipper/Receiver responsibilities.

Physical Attributes:

  • Exposure to machinery and equipment in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to chemicals and other hazardous materials.
  • Pass a Visual Acuity test.
  • 100% Standing for duration of shift, up to 12 hours.
  • Frequent lifting of 20 - 30 lbs. necessary/Max lifting – 40 to 50 lbs.
  • Bend and twist as needed.
  • Grasp, manipulate and handle objects consistently and regularly, Fine motor skills are required.
  • Work in a clean room environment.
  • Pass DOT Physical for cross training in warehouse.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of material handling experience or equivalent with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated performance.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years’ experience with ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills.
  • Certified Trainer or equivalent training experience.
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour general industry course or equivalent.
  • Drive change and challenge the status quo.
  • Advanced process knowledge and certified on multiple processes and auxiliary operations.
  • Viewed as a SME/Role model for the team, considered a “Go to” Person in the department.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Certified yellow belt or equivalent and active participant in Lean six sigma activities.
  • Intermediate computer skills and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Works independently and self-motivated.
  • Collaborative with strong interpersonal and people skills
  • Proven ability to motivate, lead, and develop high-performing teams, with strong written and verbal communication skills, a hands-on leadership approach, and the ability to serve as a role model while successfully balancing multiple priorities and achieving safety, quality, and production goals.

Pay Range for this position: $28 -$44 per hour

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
