Job Description

Summary:

The Material Handler duties include, but are not limited to, loading, unloading and moving material in the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
  • Conveys materials to designated storage areas
  • Effectively communicating with Table leads to facilitate efficient Material flow
  • Proactively identify damaged parts and call immediate attention to it
  • Follow all safety procedures including proper usage of safety equipment and tools
  • Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to an agreed-upon schedule as determined by Manager
  • Adhere to all safety, OSHA guidelines, work rules and policies and focuses daily on housekeeping inside and outside of the facility
  • Exhibits and adheres to the established VCC Core Values
  • Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems
  • Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule while being present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of full-time industry experience in a warehouse, distribution center, order fulfillment center, logistics, supply chain operations or manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with picking parts or components from work instructions
  • Current Forklift license and certification. Ability to exhibit experience with a stand-up high lift deep reach forklift equipment, pallet riders and/or stock pickers
  • Must exhibit the ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
  • Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating Systems and Programs
  • Experience in interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishings and/or lighting industry a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role

Hours:

  • Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Availability before or after designated work hours and/or weekends may be required

Compensation

  • $19.60 per hour
