This position supports Novanta’s Robotics & Automation businesses, including ATI Industrial Automation and Novanta IMS. These teams develop industry-leading solutions spanning robotic end-of-arm tooling, force/torque sensing and integrated stepper motors that enable high-performance automation systems across a wide range of industries.

As a Material Handler, you will ensure timely and accurate movement of materials within the facility. Your responsibilities will include packaging, shipping, and receiving and distributing materials.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Moving materials to and from storage areas using forklifts or other equipment
  • Loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles
  • Verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Packaging and labeling of produced goods
  • Maintaining inventory records and performing regular cycle counts

Additional Job Description

  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity, placing materials in stock.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments and teams.
  • Meet or exceed production goals as established.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • Other: Be able to operate material handling equipment such as hand-trucks, forklifts, or pallet jacks.

  • Other: Be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if necessary
  • Other: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

Education Requirement:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently
  • Able to work occasional weekends and evening
  • 1+ Year’s inventory management experience
  • Strong attention to detail
