Job Description

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Department Manager

Physical Demand Level: Medium to Heavy

FLSA Status (US only): Non-Exempt

The Material Handler I will maintain warehouse stock, fulfill customer orders, and organize and maintain existing inventory.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review raw material production schedules, pull material, and deliver to individual workstations.
  • Verify incoming material quantity/quality requirements, put away, and complete ERP receipt transactions.
  • Maintains and organizes raw material inventory.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts
  • Collaborate with inventory control to determine when product stock is needed.
  • Pack products to prepare for shipments.
  • Moves goods interdepartmentally utilizing hand trucks and other material handling equipment.
  • Maintains and organizes finished product stock.
  • Operate Forklift within the facility to transport product.
  • Be able to communicate with our vendors.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Minimum one (1) year experience working in an MRP/ERP environment.
  • Minimum one (1) year hands-on experience with picking, packing, and inventory control.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Desired

  • Forklift Certified a plus, will train if needed.
  • Experience with UPS and FedEx shipping software.

The employee must frequently lift/move and/or push/pull up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift/move and/or push/pull up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Use of vision correction is acceptable, if necessary; however, any vision correction apparatus must meet all safety guidelines for the area of activity.
