Essential Functions:

  • With supervision completes Warehousing, Inventory Control, Receiving, Shipping, Product Identification and traceability, and proper material handling and storage tasks.
  • Completes inventory transactions such as transfers, issues, receipts on PC and barcode scanner.
  • With supervision, assists with Inventory Cycle Count Program.
  • Uses continuous improvement program.
  • Complies with safety and hazardous material handling regulations, and requirements for Hazardous Waste Management.
  • Participates in the plant safety program.
  • Maintains all aspects of workplace organization with goal of providing safe and suitable work environment for Mi-Jack employees.
  • Performs other job tasks as requested.
  • Keep work area clean and dispose of any waste as it is created.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance to other departments, as needed.
  • May be required to participate in Small Group Improvement Activity Teams and daily Team Meetings.
  • Required to initiate Engineering Change Requests to improve quality, reduce cycle times and/or to correct nonconformities.
  • Complies with Quality Management System requirements in accordance with ISO9001.
  • Required to identify opportunities for improvements and submit continuous improvement ideas.
  • Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries; Assist in delivering required training to ensure that all coworkers have the necessary skills to perform their jobs properly and safely.
  • Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external).
  • Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.
  • Special projects or work as assigned.

Qualifications Guidelines

Experience/Training/Education:

Required: High School graduate, or equivalent. Material Handler experience. Experience making inventory transactions through an ERP system (preferably Epicor E9) and through barcode

Desired: Vocational training in Inventory Management, Logistics or material processing. Experience picking and issuing material to Production. APICS certification preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Requires good communication, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and follow instructions. Requires an eye for detail. Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable operating and documentation procedures and material flow; Ability to meet deadlines; to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; ability to accept constructive criticism; ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently; ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with supervisors, members of management, vendors, and other employees.

Compensation/Benefits:

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. Physical and Environmental Elements:

This is a production classification and employees work in a factory environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable standing, stooping, bending, or sitting for long periods of time. May lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds.

Special Requirements/Certification:

Forklift Operation.

Basic Computer Skills.
