Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Danvers Massachusetts

Target Rate: $24.00

Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to, the individual's experience, education, and internal equity.

Job Summary

Northeast Arc Heritage Shredding is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler II/Driver to join our Day Services team in Danvers, MA.

This position is responsible for the secure destruction of customer documents in accordance with NAID industry standards and HIPAA confidentiality requirements while also providing safe transportation for individuals served. The Material Handler II/Driver supports daily warehouse and shredding operations, performs equipment maintenance, assists with shipping and receiving activities, and helps maintain a clean and safe work environment.

The ideal candidate is reliable, mechanically inclined, comfortable working in a warehouse environment, and committed to safety, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Operate shredding machinery while adhering to all documented safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain shredding machinery and equipment in safe working condition and report malfunctions or breakdowns to the Program Manager.
  • Ensure all non-shredded materials remain secure and confidential at all times.
  • Follow HIPAA requirements and "Nothing Leaves" procedures to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Operate balers according to established instructions and safety requirements.
  • Complete shredding pickups, hard drive destruction, and destruction of other electronic media as assigned.
  • Transport Shredding Associates safely to and from program locations as assigned.
  • Adhere to all Northeast Arc policies and procedures and all state laws related to vehicle operation.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, logistics, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license required.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Experience operating warehouse or mechanical equipment is a plus.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to one hour uninterrupted.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and warehouse equipment.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a warehouse, shredding facility, and community transportation environment. Employees are expected to maintain a safe work environment and follow Universal Precautions at all times. Use of personal protective equipment, including gloves, masks, safety glasses, back supports, and other protective gear, may be required depending on assigned tasks.
