Mueller Company, a subsidiary of Mueller Water Products and publicly traded company (NYSE: MWA) is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries and North America's largest and only full-line supplier of potable water distribution products.

The primary function of this position is to be responsiblefordelivering supplies and materials to necessary departmentsPrepare materials for the next stage in the process while maintaining inventory control and records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Unloads, moves, and stores a variety of materials, parts, or products using standardized procedures

  • Moves materials between departments: follow routing or tickets to fill orders from storage, stock, or other departments.

  • Must be able to identify, count (including weigh count), record, and keep like parts together.

  • Prep materials for the next stage in process: place materials on pallets, trays, racks, etc., install strapping, bracing, or padding

  • Maintain inventory controls and records as defined in standard work utilizing MRP systems and devices.

  • Perform Cycle counts and other related duties

  • Operate a power lift truck, hand truck, pallet jack, or other manual or powered devices.

  • Wear the proper PPE for each task given

  • Perform other related duties as directed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills

  • Fluency in MRP systems and devices

  • Adhere to all safety and quality policies

  • Familiarity with inventory and scales

  • Follow oral and written instructions and work orders

  • Multitask, self-motivated, and work with little to no supervision  

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working with / dealing with shipping and receiving carriers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have 2+ years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting

  • Forklift experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess fingertip and hand dexterity

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds

  • Ability to read and comprehend information on labels

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to work around hot machinery

  • Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • No overnight travel required
