Job Title: Material Handler
Working under general supervision, move materials to various areas inside and outside the facility using powered forklift truck. Control material movement. Load and unload trucks or freight vehicles. Transport material between departments while ensuring proper routing of material is maintained May be required to perform other activities including picking orders, taking inventory, shipping and receiving. Fully trained to facilitate receipt, storage and dispatch of packaged inventory.
Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts to move materials, products and equipment throughout the manufacturing facility
Load and unload trucks, trailers, and storage areas, ensuing that materials are handled with care
Transport raw materials and packing to production lines and finishes goods to designated storage or shipping areas
Empty scrap metal bins as required
Ensure materials are properly stacked, secured and stored to prevent damage or accidents
Entering shipping and receiving information into applicable computer software and programs as required
Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations and other safety standards
Neatly store material in proper storage areas.
Maintain flow of material to all machines and assembly areas, first in, first out.
Take parts for final inspection area and/or in process inspection area and from final inspection area and/or in process inspection area to shipping.
Other duties as assigned
Academic/Educational Requirements
High school diplomaor equivalent expertise gained through professional experience, training, or certifications.
Required Skills/Experience
Prior shipping and receiving knowledge or forklift driving experience required
1-2 years operation counterbalance forklifts and other material handling equipment, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Ability to schedule and adjust plans as needed for unexpected changes
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office and inventory management system
Strong written and verbal skills
Commitment to continuous learning to stay updated on new products, market trends, and emerging sales/inventory management technologies.
